Parametric Structures HKU
"Spring Seminar 2010 @ HKU"
This seminar examined the concepts of parametric systems, its applications in - and its implication on architecture. Through a series of lectures and exercises students were introduced to the theoretical background and logic of parametric structures and the generation of them. Different digital design techniques were studied and deployed in order to generate several parametrically driven prototypes that had the capacity to form architectural structures or space. In addition a variety of digital fabrication techniques were examined to extract models in a manner that can be precisely machined and logically reassembled using the facilities in the school of Architecture.
